Significance
The Digital Services Act (DSA) is in force since February 17 and affects all those hosting content online. The DMA and the DSA aim to increase transparency and fair competition in digital services and reinforce users’ rights.
Impacts
Successful legal appeals by ‘big tech’ against gatekeeper designations will alter the DMA’s implementation and scope.
European Parliament elections in June will not diminish the EU's political commitment to the DMA and DSA.
EU digital laws could strain US-EU ties, especially if Donald Trump is elected again as US president in November.
