Keywords: Health and safety, Training, Gas

Global Energy Associates Ltd, which provides a range of specialist support services to the gas industry, is increasingly becoming the first choice for facilities management companies that require training for their engineers. A Gas Safety Course has been specifically developed by Global Energy for engineers who are involved in commercial gas installations.

The course is of particutar interest to engineers whose typical tasks would include inspecting gas plant installed in commercial or multi-occupancy premises, monitoring or supervising contractors in connection with gas works such as installation, soundness testing and purging, commissioning and testing of plant, managing all safety aspects and reporting of incidents. As a result of Global's strong contacts with both the HSE and CORGI, they have been anxious to ensure that completion of the course equips an individual with essential skills, focuses attention on the importance of relevant legislation and how to resolve any issues that arise.

Training courses have been developed by Global Energy as a spin-off from their success as consultants with facilities management companies operating throughout the British Isles. Recently, training courses have been held in Nottingham, Newport and Barnet.

Global Energy's position as a leading consultancy was recently underlined when they received an award for the second year running from the Institution of Gas Engineers.
