Purpose

This paper aims to review the latest management developments across the globe and pinpoint practical implications from cutting-edge research and case studies.

Design/methodology/approach

This briefing is prepared by an independent writer who adds their own impartial comments and places the articles in context.

Findings

Assessing an employee's performance and desires a work can be a slippery concept for some leaders. So this study proposes a framework that helps managers enhance performance by leveraging the impact of perceived organizational support and affective commitment in employees. The results show that both perceived organizational support and affective commitment each significantly and positively increase employee performance. Managers are therefore advised to create clear career paths for the roles they oversee, and to create a psychologically safe environment that facilitates personal and, in turn, company growth by nurturing their talent thoughtfully and proactively.

Originality/value

The briefing saves busy executives, strategists and researchers hours of reading time by selecting only the very best, most pertinent information and presenting it in a condensed and easy-to-digest format.
