Underlines the need to maintain training courses to keep them relevant and up-to-date, pointing out that this task is potentially more onerous because e-learning has multiplied the number of modules and courses available. Advises on how to handle training maintenance, including e-learning, at the training design stage – develop a content indexing system that lists all topics covered in courses; use information repositories; avoid wording in training modules that links the training to a date; make generic references when referring to employees; set up automatic email notifications that will be activated when information held in repositories changes; and think ahead when developing training to minimize the work that will need to be done when the training needs to be updated.
