Bizarre workers compensation cases: the ten strangest workplace injuries of the past year

Argues that, while most workers compensation claims are fairly commonplace, some could be considered bizarre, and yet such cases that are bizarre in an academic sense are nevertheless intensely real, and affect real lives and real families. List ten of the most bizarre workers compensation cases reported during 2011, with the corresponding findings of the boards or courts required to make decisions as to whether the injuries qualified for compensation. Includes such cases as a paving worker striking a bowling ball with a sledgehammer, losing an eye, and an employee who suffered a fatal heart attack two days after receiving a termination letter from his employer.
