A UK distributor of pharmaceutical and health-care products and services to pharmacies, hospitals and doctors has introduced a learning-management system that has helped to formalize training processes and improve customer support.

AAH Pharmaceuticals uses e-learning for a range of training modules, many that can be completed in less than ten minutes, including software simulations and quick quizzes. The company backs this up with Cobent’s Learning Compliance Suite (LCS), which has been deployed to 280 pharmacies in Scotland and, by the end of this year, will be prepared for deployment to all of AAH’s 2,400 pharmacy customers and 280 hospital pharmacies around the UK.

The system enables AAH to offer round-the-clock training support. Customers are able to use the portal for reference information or refresher training. Every time there is a software upgrade or a new feature is added, AAH can quickly provide information and training modules to customers.

Historically, customer training was provided in a phased approache, depending on the availability of qualified personnel. Now, AAH is able rapidly to roll-out product training to customers and to track, manage and report on all training in a formal and auditable manner.

The system is also used internally to formalize training to staff and service engineers.

Niki Ward, AAH marketing, planning and implementation manager, commented:“The system has enabled us to provide a higher level of support to our customers and to formalize both external and internal training processes.”

With 3,800 employees and 20 locations across the UK, AAH stocks more than 20,000 products and makes around 100,000 deliveries a week.
