A bespoke e-learning induction course has been introduced for new employees at British American Tobacco’s Globe House offices in central London.
Saffron Interactive, an e-learning, mobile and blended-learning company, worked closely with British American Tobacco on the course, which is used to welcome all new starters to the organization and the building.
The induction uses bespoke animations and interactions to complement British American Tobacco’s brand image. The result, said a Saffron spokesman, is a course that is accessible and engaging for learners and covers important induction topics such as health and safety and building layout. The training aims to minimize the number of questions new starters will have to ask in their first few weeks.
Richard Steel, security-services manager at British American Tobacco, said:“It was important for us to provide our new starters with information that will enrich their experience of working at Globe House. A cost-effective solution was delivered within tight timescales. I feel that we have an engaging tool that will greatly benefit the company.”
British American Tobacco is the world’s second-largest stock-market-listed tobacco group by global market share, with brands sold in more than 180 markets. Its subsidiary companies produce some 715 billion cigarettes through 49 cigarette factories in 41 countries, and employ more than 54,000 people.
