IP49 in action

Actions, not words are called for! The well intentioned series of discussions, conferences and working parties set up in response to the declared need for greater mutual understanding between industry and education can produce conclusions, suggestions and recommendations, all of which will be to no avail unless translated into effective action. It would be a crying shame, and a serious reflection of our national intertia if a similar fate should befall the ideas contained in the imaginative document I P 49 produced by the commendable initiative taken by the Engineering Industrial Training Board. Yet, since the early tentative responses were made to the document the silence has been deafening!
