The huge assembly which turned up to savour the experience and paid for the privilege came, one imagines, as much to see the man as to absorb his message. If this were so then the delegates got their moneysworth. Ten times larger than life; incomparable actor; inordinately vain; highly gifted in communicating to the point of playing to the gallery; amusing, entertaining, but above all else persuasive and rational, here was a representative of that breed of men which has revolutionised, within the past decade, America's thinking about human effort in the work‐place.
