Training consultants who use networking to gain business can consider a variety of different strategies. There may well be a current backlash against some methods of networking such as “working the floor” at events for trainers. Other choices include networking with other providers of training, networking with other providers to form a consortium to put in bids, becoming the expert and advertising your expertise, highly targeted networking within a sector as well as many other strategies. Networking is a long‐term strategy based on trust, sincerity and reciprocity of relationships.
