IN MARCH 1972 THREE ENGINEERING COURSES WERE launched at The Technical College of Monmouthshire, Crosskeys. They were designed to offer a limited amount of skills training to suitable persons who were either unemployed or were willing to retrain for a new job. The idea to introduce these courses came about during a visit to the college by the manager of the local Department of Employment office when he met the head of the college's department of engineering.
