This article describes recent experiences in the use of the critical incident technique as a means of identifying training needs of supervisors and managers in the knitwear industry. The work was initiated and carried out by Paul Carter and Eddie Woolrich, of the Knitting, Lace and Net ITB, in conjunction with the training officers of the companies involved.
