Perhaps the biggest challenge facing the training movement today is the current assumption that society would function better if only there was a wider understanding of how it works. This understanding needs to be acquired at one level by employees and at another level by the general public. In our March issue we have already highlighted the pioneering efforts of SB Modules Ltd with their sound‐tape training pack designed to communicate the simple facts about how the money moves in a business. There seems to be developing a general conviction that more information has to flow about the performance of employing organisations. This means not only their current efficiency in producing wealth and profit but also their ability to provide security for employees, and a good service for customers while following a sound policy of environmental responsibility. The growing awareness of this need to be better informed is to be noted not only in the UK but in all countries in one form or another.
