World Open Learning Conference and Exhibition (WOLCE 2000)

Keywords Open learning, Conferences, Exhibitions

Key figures from the world of open learning have been debating the content and format of the World Open Learning Conference and Exhibition (WOLCE 2000),being held at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham on 4 and 5 October. The event – now in its seventh year – attracts more conference delegates and visitors than any other similar event in the world.

Among the innovations proposed for the next WOLCE is an open learning related awards dinner on the evening of 4 October. Awards will be given to both suppliers and practitioners for outstanding service to the open learning industry.

In addition, the "networking area" for visitors, which made its debut at WOLCE 99, will be enlarged and formalized to allow seminar speakers, following their presentations, to discuss issues in depth with delegates and visitors.
