Legal eagles to benefit from new range of law courses

Keywords: Training, Legal profession, Employment law

The Institute of Personnel and Development (IPD) and JSB Training and Consulting are jointly running a wide range of employment law courses and one-day seminars. Courses provide delegates with access to prominent legislators, lawyers, politicians and leading edge practitioners with extensive experience and advice on tap.

A series of new one-day sessions includes topical issues such as "Essential employment law - France, Germany and Eire". Multinational employers are increasingly having to address new employment law questions arising in other EU member states. In the first seminar of its kind, the course is designed to enable delegates to examine essential issues whilst taking a comparative look at key employment law in three other European countries.

Other topical sessions include "E-mail, Internet and employment law". Speakers will give a jargon-free overview of the key legal issues involved in e-mail and Internet use and abuse, and offer guidance on developing and implementing effective policies.

"Parental leave and maternity rights" is designed to give delegates the opportunity to get to grips with the latest legislation. The programme focuses on the practical effects of recent key court decisions and offers employer and employee perspectives whilst providing practical legal analysis.

Other courses in the employment law portfolio range from basic through to advanced and certificate levels and key everyday issues such as discrimination, maternity legislation and employment contracts.
