CC Information Services Limited (CCIS), specialist technical support providers, and New Media Services Limited the on-screen presentation specialist, have merged their operations. The new operation has an annual turnover in excess of £1m.
According to Andrew Marsh, head of CCIS: "This move allows CCIS to move into the rapidly expanding world of e-learning, offering enhanced levels of technical support for all aspects of Internet/intranet delivered training".
CCIS currently provides field support for all hardware involved in the delivery of training programmes in the UK and Europe, including Germany, France and Sweden. The company also supplies helpdesk and other support services to organisations in China, Hong Kong, Singapore and India.
New Media, founded in 1986, operates in a number of markets, providing information and delivery systems in areas such as point of information kiosks and broadcasting.
While the two companies have operated in different market sectors, both specialise in aspects relating to on-screen information. Using CCIS's expertise in the provision of technical support for computer-based training (CBT), New Media will be introducing an integrated customer helpdesk and offering its customers access to a national network of technical support engineers.
New Media's managing director, Ben Tagg, commented: "Bringing together New Media's skills in the fields of information dissemination and technology, along with CCIS's expertise in providing technical support for systems on a worldwide basis, enables the new organisation to offer customers increasingly high levels of service".
