E-learning provider throws down the gauntlet to the HR profession

Keywords: Management, Business, Skills, Resources

Management and business e-learning provider, SkillSoft International, is so confident about the breadth of its e-learning portfolio, that the company is challenging HR and training professionals throughout the UK to identify a key management and business skills area that is not already represented within the SkillSoft course library.

This is likely to be a difficult task, as SkillSoft currently offers almost 700 different courses across 20 curricula. But, to encourage people to rise to the challenge, all participants – regardless of whether they identify a gap in SkillSoft's e-learning portfolio – will qualify for free access to all of the company's UK courses for a period of one month.

Kay Baldwin-Evans, Head of Marketing at SkillSoft, said: "Anyone entering the HR Challenge will be sent a special password and link so that they can personally access our entire UK portfolio for one month – completely free of charge.

However, those who believe they have found a management, professional or business skills area that isn't already covered within SkillSoft's UK and US course library will also be entered into a prize draw for three-month's free access to our UK portfolio for 25 staff – plus a case of champagne to celebrate with. Furthermore, if a missing skills area is identified by more than 50 people, we will immediately incorporate it into our course development plans."

Kevin Young, Managing Director of SkillSoft International, added: "Feedback we've received from HR and training professionals suggests that there is some confusion about which organisations are leaders in the e-learning field. By issuing this challenge, we can easily demonstrate that SkillSoft has the most comprehensive library of management, business and professional skills in the world – and that, within this area of expertise, we can legitimately call ourselves leaders.
