Removals carried out diplomatically
A removal company is teaching its employees diplomacy skills to reduce the stress of clients who are moving house.
Bishop's Move has set up a regional training centre in Exeter, UK, where staff learn diplomacy as well as how to wrap, pack and move customers' treasured belongings.
Graham Morrish, who recently completed the British Association of Removers Training Services trainers' course, said: "Our staff work in a public-facing industry where customer and safety issues are top priority. It is also in our own interest to train staff thoroughly in order to improve our service and prevent unnecessary claims."
He continued: "The course involves a combination of classroom and practical training, from how to deal diplomatically with the customer, to packing delicate china and moving heavy industrial equipment. On completion of the course, the staff receive the Movers' Institute qualifications, co-ordinated by the British Association of Removers Training Services."
