Partnership benefits aspiring managers

Aspiring managers in Wales are to benefit from a new partnership between Coleg Gwent and the Chartered Management Institute.

Under the agreement, young managers will have the opportunity to participate in a series of management-training courses at the college's £1.5 million residential facility, the Hill Education and Conference Centre.

Courses will last 3 or 4 days. They have been developed to provide new managers with a solid foundation in the latest management techniques and thinking. The programmes will target managers without formal training and will enable participants to learn how to plan, prioritize and manage their projects and resources. Individuals will also be encouraged to understand their own management style and develop strategies to improve their effectiveness.

Those who participate in any of the courses will be granted student-membership status within the Chartered Management Institute. This will give them access to research facilities, plus business, market, company and product information.

Programmes are scheduled for June and September.
