The Travis Perkins Group has selected the Kallidus Learning and Talent Suite to deliver a strategic-learning program to 24,000 employees worldwide. The group operates 16 businesses across different trades in the building and home-improvement market from more than 1,800 sites nationwide.

The Kallidus learning-management system will support the learning and development requirements of the group’s employees while also enabling learning and development to be more closely aligned with business strategy across the group.

Melanie Cooley, group training manager, said: “The system’s strong reporting functionality will provide greater transparency and visibility, giving learners and managers much more control over their learning.”

The solution supports the Travis Perkins Group’s new internal web-site, a dynamic and interactive platform that will drive learning and development for everyone in the group. The system creates a complete learning environment, with e-learning, classroom learning and informal learning in a single location,delivering a better learning experience for all employees.

Key benefits of the internal site include:

  • users will be able to see their training – from formal to informal learning, e-learning to classroom-based – all in one place;

  • e-learning and classroom training can be selected from easy-to-use catalogs,relevant to the individual’s job role – training is just three clicks away;

  • individuals will be able to track their progress and managers will be able to monitor the progress of their teams through easy-to-understand reports that can be produced at the touch of a button;

  • users will be able to provide feedback on the courses they have taken, enabling the group to monitor success; and

  • employees will be able to work collaboratively with their colleagues through the use of new features such as chat-rooms, virtual classrooms and discussion forums.
