National Library of Australia ceases accepting ALIA vouchers
Keywords: Libraries, Australia, Vouchers, Document supply
The National Library of Australia Document Supply Service no longer accepts ALIA (Australian Library and Information Association) vouchers as payment for loans and documents supplied. The reason behind this decision is the introduction of GST on document delivery services and the subsequent difficulty of accounting for this payment. The current manual or central accounting systems used by the National Library of Australia are not able to produce appropriate invoices or payment records to enable libraries using the vouchers to reclaim GST.
Libraries using the National Library's Document Supply Service will now have to choose from the following methods of payment:
Kinetica Document Delivery Payments Service.
Monthly account (payable by cheque or credit card).
Credit card (credit card details supplied with request).
