This 4th edition of Reg Lee's well-known text is the first for 14 years and has been substantially revised by Paul Wordsworth of Liverpool John Moores University. Published by Blackwells, this 352-page book costs £26.50.

New RNIB design guides

Working with Lift Trucks
The Health and Safety Executive has published updated guidance aimed at preventing deaths and injuries to people working with lift trucks. There are about 8,000 such accidents each year and about ten of these result in fatalities. Safety in Working with Lift Trucks is priced £6.50 and is available from HSE Books (01787 881165).
Mobile Elevating Platforms and the Use of Safety Harnesses
Another HSE publication (but this time free) is Occupational Circular314/19, which contains guidance on how health and safety inspectors will inspect mobile elevating work platforms and safety harnesses.
