A recent court case has extended the liability for economic loss resulting from negligence. In the case, Ove Arup and Partners International Limitedv. Mirant Asia-Pacific Construction (Hong Kong) Limited, the Technology and Construction Court held Mirant free to pursue its claim of $62.5 million arising out of the failure of foundations of a boiler house designed by Ove Arup.
