German Gemar is a Professor of Economics and Business Administration at the University of Malaga, Spain. His research has focussed on strategic management, firm survival, tourism, hotels, hospitality, environment, corporate social responsibility, marketing and cultural distance. He also has managed hotels for 15 years and worked as the general manager of the Malaga Provincial Council, with responsibilities covering the areas of, among others, tourism, environment protection, sustainability, waste management and management of wastewater treatment plants.

Ismael P. Soler has a PhD in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Malaga, Spain. He holds an MBA from the University of Malaga and a Bachelor of Business Direction and Administration from the University of Granada, Spain. He also has worked as a Technician in the Department of Planning, Development and Research of the Granada Tourist Board. His research has focussed on tourism, strategic management, hotels, destination management, price strategies and brand management.

Vanesa F. Guzman-Parra is Associate Professor of Management at the University of Malaga (Spain). She is the Editor in Chief of European Journal Family Business and Director of the Chair of Family Businesses at University of Malaga. Her research includes rural tourism, family business, innovation in teaching methodology and destination image. She has presented her research in journals such as Tourism Management Perspectives, Small Business Economics, Tourism Management Studies, Management Decision and Business Research Quarterly.
