International Journal of Disaster Resilience in the Built Environment is a CIB-encouraged journal that promotes research examining the role of building and construction to anticipate and respond to unexpected events that damage or destroy the built environment.

Accepted manuscript types and word counts
- Research Paper — up to 8000 words
- Case Study — up to 4000 words
- Book Review — up to 1500 words
- Editorial — up to 1000 words
- Field Report — up to 2000 words
- News — up to 1000 words

This is a hybrid journal. Hybrid journals are subscription journals but offer all authors the option to publish their work open access. The increasing frequency and intensity of climate-induced and multi-hazard disasters have highlighted the urgent need for resilient, sustainable, and technologically advanced built environments. Traditional approaches to infrastructure development are no longer sufficient to address complex and interconnected risks driven by climate change, rapid urbanization, and environmental degradation.
