One useful feature on the net is the University of Michigan Weather Underground. It provides weather forecasts for most parts of the United States and Canada, conveniently available by city, and also gives information on earthquakes, skiing conditions, and hurricane advisories. This is installed on several Gopher systems, but is also reachable by Telnet.
