This study aims to investigate the impact of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) on employee performance within higher education institutions in Beijing, focusing on the mediating role of organisational commitment.
A quantitative methodology was utilised, employing a validated questionnaire to gather data from 382 employees across four universities. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) was applied to analyse the hypothesised relationships.
The study found that both economic and philanthropic CSR dimensions significantly influence employee performance, with organisational commitment acting as a partial mediator. The economic dimension of CSR had a slightly stronger impact on performance compared to the philanthropic dimension.
This research enhances understanding of CSR’s internal impacts within higher education, highlighting the crucial mediating role of organisational commitment. It offers valuable insights for policy formulation and strategic CSR implementation in educational contexts.
