Levels and interconnections of project success in development projects by Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs)

Dr Yogarajah Nanthagopan is Senior Lecturer in Management at Vavuniya Campus of the University of Jaffna. Nanthagopan has been 15 years’ experience as Business and Project Management Consultant for Business and Non-Profit Organisations in Sri Lanka. Nanthagopan received the PhD degree in Management (Project Management) from the Bournemouth University. He also received BBA and MBA degrees from the University of Jaffna, and Rajarata University respectively. His research interests include project management, organisational development and strategic management.

Dr Nigel Williams is Senior Lecturer in Project Management at Bournemouth University and has previously worked at the University of Bedfordshire. Before joining academia, Nigel worked for 15 years as a Project Manager and Business Consultant for Manufacturing Organisations in the Caribbean Region. Nigel received the PhD degree in Engineering from the University of Cambridge. He also received the BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering and the MSc degree in Marketing from the University of the West Indies. His research interests include project and event evaluation using social media, festival internationalisation and organisational project management.

Karen Thompson is working closely with local businesses, organisations and professional bodies, She lead real student projects in years 2 and 4 of the BA Business Studies. Projects have ranged from building a wildlife area for a local school and fundraising through to developing a sustainable transport policy for a local financial company and evaluating the carbon footprint for a construction company. She teaches Project Management at year 2 and Advanced Project Management to part-time online students. After a long career in Information Systems and Technology that included strategic consultancy, she joined Bournemouth University in 1996 to teach a range of management and systems-related topics, now focused on project management. She led the online undergraduate business programmes for three years. Currently, she engaged in research towards PhD on the role of social media in Project Management.
