Documentation

Like many other organisations we have a Web site. This has a number of uses from marketing and PR to providing internal information via an Intranet. The site now has countless pages mounted and includes a large number of documents. Many of these documents exist in electronic form on the Web site and, elsewhere, in print form. We are now examining the feasibility of producing templates that will allow us to create "document content" (text, pictures, diagrams, etc) that can be "poured into" the templates to produce documents for both the Web and print where both look good and are compatible with the appropriate display. We are also looking at modular documents which give a degree of customisation of the same basic content for different audiences. All this work is going under the rather grand title of a "document strategy". Anyone else have one of these? If so,would you like to write a piece for Work Study so that I and others could share the experience?
