Industries you never think about?

Of course, productivity and performance are important for all industry sectors, but I have never in the past thought about the productivity of fish farming (isn’t that now called “aquaculture”?). However the“Scottish Fish Farms Production Survey, 2005” tells me that total production of Atlantic salmon in 2005 was 129,588, compared with 158,099 in 2004. Staff numbers decreased from 1,161 to 979 and mean productivity showed a slight decrease. I give you the information late and offer it only to show that“out there” all sorts of industries we never think about are measuring and hoping to improve their productivity.
