Eastman Kodak Company's Document Imaging Group has launched an initiative called Reference Archiving, which involves a drive to secure business records. It is supported by a portfolio of new Kodak products designed to help companies meet the ever-increasing regulatory requirements for safekeeping and managing business information. The new products, including digital-to-film writers and a film-to-digital scanner are said to enable companies to create reference archives that can be used to demonstrate responsible records management and reduce the costs of storing documents on-line. The new products – the Kodak i9600 series writer, the Kodak i7300 scanner, Kodak Reference Archive Media and associated software – are designed to allow companies to convert digital documents and data into archival microfilm, and then reconvert the images from film to digital files for sharing and distribution.
