NCR have installed their Ultra 2127 system in a Mammouth hypermarket at Osny, in northwest suburban Paris. The system uses processor assisted as opposed to processor driven architecture and is claimed to be the first where large stores can be controlled by a single in‐store processor. The scanners are mounted vertically above the keyboards, which enables the cashiers to scan goods and place them in a carrier bag in one movement. An RDM report.
