This study aims to provide an in-depth analysis of supply chain performance (SCP) literature over the past decade, which has been riddled with grand challenges, to uncover emerging trends, research patterns, and critical gaps for future exploration.
A bibliometric analysis (BA), incorporating network visualisation techniques, is employed to map trends and research patterns in SCP based on articles published between 2000 and 2024. Additionally, the theories, characteristics, context and methodology (TCCM) framework is applied to systematically identify research gaps and develop a future research agenda, focusing on articles published between 2020 and 2024.
The study highlights key themes driving SCP, including supply chain strategy, risk management, emerging technologies and sustainability. It also proposes relevant theoretical perspectives for advancing the field and introduces a framework for monitoring and improving SCP.
The study offers theoretical insights by mapping research trends and identifying dominant themes in SCP. It also proposes a big data-driven framework designed to strengthen collaboration, risk management and the enhancement of SCP.
