Dr Halima Begum is an Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Finance in the School of Economics, Finance and Banking (SEFB), Universiti Utara Malaysia (Best Eminent Management University, AMBA and AACSB-accredited business school). She has more than 10 years of research experience and 6 years of teaching experience in multiple countries. She did her PhD in environmental management at the National University of Malaysia. Dr Theam Foo Ng obtained his BSc (Hons) Mathematics and MSc (Statistics) from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Penang, Malaysia. He received his PhD degree from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia. He is now with the Centre for Global Sustainability Studies (CGSS), USM where he is currently as a senior lecturer. He is a coordinator for the South East Asia Sustainability Network (SEASN) and Environmental Protection and Education Hub (EPEHub), USM. He has experience as a guest editor, associate editor, section editor and reviewer for a few reputable journals/book series. His research interest is around machine learning, pattern recognition, computational intelligence, image processing, ESD and sustainability.

Abul Quasem Al-Amin, PhD is a Professor (Adj) at the University of Waterloo, Canada. He is also Director of the Centre for Asian Climate and Environmental Policy Studies, Canada. He is currently associated with many research works at UNDP, HEKS, HAW-Germany, Springer USA, FORUM FOR FUTURE Singapore, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment Malaysia, Malaysian Biotechnology Corporation, Economic Planning Unit Malaysia, Country representative of Malaysia to UNFCCC, Academy Science Malaysia, Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia and Sime Darby Malaysia. He is assisting countries, especially ASEAN, in accelerating the transition to a low-carbon economy through enhancing policymakers’ capacity to promote green technologies, including renewable energy development, affordable access to clean energy for the poor and support to industries and other economic sectors in adopting low-carbon technologies.

Professor Gazi Mahabubul Alam, PhD, FRSA is an internationally recognised Public Policy Analyst with an especial focus to Higher Education. Countries of his work experience include Malaysia, Bangladesh, the UK and the USA. He works for both institute of Higher Education and Partner for Development. Before moving to the University Putra Malaysia, he was a Professor at the University of Malaya and East-West University. He acquired MA in International Education and Development from the University of Sussex and a PhD from the University of Nottingham. He received a distinguished fellowship from the Royal Society of Arts. He has published a number of papers and they received a notable amount of citation in the Scopus and ISI indexes. His paper on private Higher Education received the best citation award from the WoS.

Ayyoob Sharifi is an Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Hiroshima University. He also has a cross-appointment at the Graduate School of Advanced Science and Engineering. His research is mainly at the interface of urbanism and climate change mitigation and adaptation. He actively contributes to global change research programmes such as the Future Earth and currently is serving as a lead author for the Sixth Assessment Report (AR6) of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). The ultimate goal of his research is to provide further insights into how to develop sustainable, peaceful, just and resilient communities.

Dr Amanda Lange Salvia is an Associate Researcher of the international project Transforming Universities for a Changing Climate at the University of Passo Fundo, Brazil and Deputy Editor of the Encyclopedia of the SDGs. Her work focusses on the role of universities towards sustainability, the impacts of climate change and the SDGs.

Dr Qudsia Kalsoom, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the School of Education, Beaconhouse National University, Pakistan. She studies issues related to sustainability in higher education. She is particularly interested in investigating the impact of transdisciplinary and transformative pedagogies in teacher education.

Professor Mustafa Saroar Lectures on Sustainable Urban Management at Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET), Bangladesh. PhD from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Bangkok and Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Trondheim, Norway (as an exchange Norwegian Government/MFA Scholar). MSc from the Technical University of Dortmund, Germany (as a German Government/DAAD Scholar). Worked for many institutions including UNICEF, UNDP, USAID, FAO, WHO, GIZ, RVO and CGIAR institutions. He has published more than 30 peer-reviewed papers from leading publishers including Springer, Elsevier, T&F, Wily and Sons and Emerald. He has presented as a keynote/plenary/invited speaker at more than 30 high-impact international conferences held in North America, Europe, Oceania, Latin America, Africa and Asia. Often invited as an expert panel discussant on issues of Urban Sustainability by government agencies, international organisations and industry.
