This toolkit reflects the experiences of the International Alliance of Research University (IARU) members and should be seen as a guide to assist in developing a comprehensive environmental sustainability plan that suits a particular campus. The six-point toolkit includes strategies to address the following elements: mapping current situation and developing a governance structure; measuring environmental impacts; integrating campus activities;determining goals and a strategy for the process; establishing strategies to create a sustainable campus; and education and awareness.
