IN THE March issue of NLW, Clive Bingley expressed the wish that sensible young women would stop designating themselves Ms. Apart from the fact that sensible young women never have indulged in the Ms nonsense, the appeal was further misdirected—it should have been made to men. Without men's acceptance of it, the meaningless abbreviation could not have gained any currency at all.
