The LA Council made a welcome return to HQ on 7 January after a two‐year absence and, however much members appreciated the friendly hospitality extended by Islington Council they were glad to be home again in Ridgmount Street. But its meeting room's acoustics are poor and a series of microphones with attached wires snaking all over the floor showed that an attempt had been made to deal with the problem. The resultant sound was a shade boxy and computer‐like but audible and will be even better when platform members have learnt not to bump their microphone stands.
