CORPORATE DATABASE IN A POLYTECHNIC: MANAGEMENT AND ECONOMIC IMPLICATIONS

From April 1989 Leicester Polytechnic will, in common with the other UK Polytechnics, face a major change in its status. It will be encumbent on the Polytechnic to take an entrepreneurial role and explore new ways of generating income. As one of a series of income‐generating initiatives, a project was started at Leicester Polytechnic in July 1987 to establish a database which will list all ongoing and potential research and consultancy activities within the institution.
