The Revised SAE Classification of Crankcase Oils Available to Purchase

The revised classification for crankcase oils, passed “by the Society of Automobile Engineers Fuels and Lubricants Technical Committee were given in Saybolt Universal Seconds in our last issue, but there was not time before closing for press to give the Redwood and Centistokes conversions. These are now included hereunder and are, we believe, self explanatory. The conversions generally, are approximate, but are sufficiently accurate for all normal purposes.
