The international situation again calls for increased production from our factories. Whilst still producing as much as possible for export, as many factories as possible must be turned over once again to a wartime rate of production in pursuance of our defence programme. It is again going to be especially important to give constant attention to preventive maintenance. Anything that can be done to prevent a breakdown to any vital mechanism, or to delay such a breakdown until repairs can be effected, will materially assist this production drive.
