Mismatching tyres will affect axle lubricant performance

The use of dual, or tandem worm gear axles on long distance road vehicles is quite common. Axles, generally, do not receive the lubrication attention and maintenance that they deserve but in addition it is rarely appreciated that unequal type wear can seriously affect worm gear temperatures and the use of correct lubricant becomes very important in preventing breakdown.
