Dassault Systèmes has announced the availability of DELMIA arc welding, a DELMIA V5 robotic solution add-on, which allows the offline creation of arc welding trajectories and tasks in a 3D environment. DELMIA arc welding helps the user achieve substantial cost savings through the creation and optimization of robotic arc welding programs in a digital environment,minimizing programming and rework time that would typically tie up plant floor equipment (Plate 3).

 Plate 3DELMIA arc welding is an optional program for use with the DELMIA V5 Robotics solution that gives manufacturers the ability to design, simulate, optimize and program robotic workcells in a 3D environment

DELMIA arc welding seamlessly integrates with the DELMIA robot task definition, which allows users to create arc welding process-specific task generation for development of a complete robot arc welding simulation with synchronization of all resources. The program comes with all the tools required to fulfill robot arc welding simulation needs.

Through the DELMIA V5 robotics solution, the arc welding add-on has access to the DELMIA standard library of over 700 accurate robot models. Additionally,through the storing of best practices, programming knowledge is leveraged,automating much of the repetitive work involved with robot programming.
