Integrated solutions to design, plan, simulate and optimise a complete factory
Tecnomatix Technologies has announced its digital factory concept a comprehensive suite of integrated manufacturing simulation tools covering every level from a schematic top down view of the factory to the operations of a single machine (see Plate 2).

SIMPLE++ helps manufacturers to optimise the layout, capacity and performance of all the production systems and processes within the plant. The software can be used to review existing facilities and create "what-if" scenarios and evaluate the impact of the introduction of additional resources or new product lines. Its real-time communication capabilities allow integration with other enterprise information systems such as CAD, CAPE and ERP to speed up time to market and improve data consistency.
DYNAMO is used for dynamic studies of product packaging verifying the assembly process. ROBCAD provides facilities for the design, optimisation and off-line programming of automated and manual manufacturing systems. Both can be used to create an on-screen virtual manufacturing environment that graphically displays and simulates actual manufacturing operations.
VALISYS enables users to define and verify manufacturing tolerances against international design standards, perform assembly stack-up analysis, create off-line programs for co-ordinate-measuring machines and analyse inspection data.
