The Power Wave 450 is an advanced waveform-controlled power source featuring seamless integration with a robotic controller. The power source selects or programs the optimum output waveform and modifies it to adapt to weld puddle dynamics. This is done in one-millionth of a second, making the system well suited for reducing spatter, designing weld bead profiles, controlling heat input and maximising travel speeds.
The Invertec Surface Tension Transfer power source is the industry's only independent current-controlled wire-feeding process, according to the maker,Lincoln Electric Co., Cleveland, Ohio. This process allows for controlled heat input independent of wire-feed rate, providing high production rates on thin gauge components. The welds are made virtually spatter-free even with 100 per cent carbon-dioxide gas coverage. The robotically interfaced STT-10 process controller allows use of automatic parameter settings such as wirefeed speed, peak, and background current directly from the teach pendant.
The Tandem MIG pairs two Lincoln Electric Tandem MIG 45- power sources to produce speeds in excess of 250ipm on thin-gauge lap welds. The system produces high-quality welds at reduced heat inputs and low spatter levels for gap, burnthrough, and distortion problems.
