Fanuc celebrated inauguration of new robotized sensor plant

On 15 May, Fanuc celebrated an inauguration of the expansion of its encoder plant for servomotors which is located at Hayato, Aira-gun, Kagoshima-ken. The Hayato Plant was established in 1992 as a plant exclusively for the production of servomotors with production capacity of 30,000 units per month. Now it occupies 168,000m2 of land and the plant site 5,100m2. The new plant has a production capacity of 60,000 Servomotors monthly, increased by 20 percent.

The expansion is aimed not only to increase its production capacity, but also to establish an state-of-the-art automated plant ranging from the start of manufacturing to final shipping by introducing 120 industrial robots in various processes like forming, deburring, metal cutting, assembling, palletizing.

Fanuc claims that the new plant is the largest and the most advanced manufacturing facility for this kind of production.
