Robotic packaging alliance formed

Keywords: Packaging, Robots

A co-operation agreement has been reached between Endoline Machinery Ltd,Biggleswade, a UK manufacturer of semi- and fully-automatic packaging equipment, and articulated-arm robot supplier, Motoman Robotics (UK) Ltd, Banbury.

It makes available to food manufacturers in particular, and to industry in general, a one-stop shop for all types of automated solutions from pick-and-place case packing to large-scale palletising and packing installations.

Under the terms of the agreement, Endoline will equip its standard end-of-line packaging machinery with robots taken from the smaller end of Motoman's all-electric range. Larger bespoke systems will combine Endoline case packers with Motoman robotic palletising systems, a sector where the company is particularly strong. For any given project, turnkey responsibility will be taken by one or other supplier depending on user preference and/or which company is best equipped to complete the work.

Those Endoline systems which are built for overseas customers will be similarly equipped with Motoman robots supplied in the UK. In such cases, however, the Banbury subsidiary will, through its Swedish parent, set up local service facilities anywhere in the world.
