Welcome to a vibrant new world in this May 2013 special issue of Civil Engineering on Australia and New Zealand. It provides an insight into the many exciting and innovative civil engineering projects being delivered in this flourishing corner of the globe.

With 1400 members in Australia and 600 in New Zealand, ICE already plays a significant role in the region's growth. This is expected to increase as ever-larger numbers from the UK and elsewhere migrate ‘down under’ to enjoy higher salaries, more interesting assignments and a better quality of life.
