This is the second part of the 11th Geoffrey Binnie lecture presented at the 16th biennial BDS conference held at Strathclyde University in 2010. The first part was published in the previous edition of Dams and Reservoirs. The lecture is about the development of hydroelectric power in Scotland focusing on the careers of the panel engineers involved.
