Modifying a Victorian spillway to comply with current design standards

The lower reservoir in a cascade built in the mid- to late nineteenth century was reclassified to category A. This paper discusses the modifications required to enable the spillway to pass the probable maximum flood safely. It covers flood study, physical model study, design and construction phases.
