The relevance of ICOLD to BDS Available to Purchase

The recent ICOLD congress in Brasilia was the 23rd such congress and the 77th meeting of ICOLD. As usual it was well attended by British Dam Society members and as current chairman of the BDS I was required to cast the UK vote when it came to ICOLD committee decisions. But what is ICOLD and what relevance has it to the BDS?
